An Annual Meeting with Preservation Pizazz
Posted by Preservation Maryland in Preservation Awards, Preservation Maryland Events on November 4, 2011
Even if you aren’t a Preservation Maryland member, don’t miss our annual meeting this year on Wednesday, November 9, at the Maryland Club in Baltimore. There will be elections to the board of directors, but it’s more an evening to celebrate the winners of our annual awards and to hear inspiring remarks from a national leader in the historic preservation field. The chance to mingle and enjoy drinks and hors d’oeuvres in a spectacular historic building adds to the appeal.
This year, we honor a non-profit organization, a corporation, a preservation project and an individual who were selected from a compelling group of nominations. In each case, the work and example set by each of these honorees is among the very best of historic preservation efforts in our state. Please join us as we honor The Preservation Society, The Azola Companies, the Frederick Visitor Center and J.O. K. Walsh of Denton.
We are extremely proud to have Jim Lighthizer, a former Preservation Maryland board member, and since 1999, president of the Civil War Trust, as our speaker. The Anne Arundel County resident’s leadership of the Civil War Trust has led to the organization’s exponential growth in membership and protected acreage. Jim will reveal his secrets for “Succeeding at Preservation in an Uncertain Economic Climate.”
So, don’t miss out. The cost for members is $50 or for non-members, $60. To register, click here.
